Just when you thought there was a Google search result for everything, the search engine giant comes up with something new.

Whilst it has not been officially announced, Google will be expanding their search engine services to a job seeking/hiring site currently known as Google Hire.

There has been speculation regarding the privacy settings available to employees with many sites reporting that employers will be able to view a job’s applicants search history.

A Google spokesperson has commented on this rumour by stating “Only information that a candidate voluntarily provides would be passed to a prospective employer as part of their online application. Private information will not be shared”. So you can rest comfortably knowing your future boss doesn’t know how much time you actually spend watching cat videos on YouTube or your weird Google search for that stuffy nose you had last week.

The Google Hire login page is now up and running but you can’t actually log in… yet. Currently still under development, the new site provides employers and employees a new platform to engage in job search, such as filtering through resumes, advertising available positions.

Google Hire’s launch date has not been set however; it is poised to rival job search platforms such as LinkedIn, providing similar services and functions to users.
